Scouts will do a short hike then pitch their tents then do a longer hike with bases along the way. We will finish on Sunday morning. More info will be given out on Tuesday. If parents need gear we recommend going to the Banbridge Outlet as there are 3/4 outdoor shops and it is much cheaper than going to Portwest. These scouts have been building up to this point for the last 6 months learning all about the scout section by working in their patrols. County Camp Info Click here Busy time for scouts 1st Louth Scouts have been busy over the last few months. They have been building towers, making paracord bracelets, learning to sew and going on a hike. check out all the pictures in our gallery. St. Brigid's Crosses The scouts were busy on Tuesday 31st January making St. Brigid's Crosses. Check out the photos here. Investiture Congratulatuions to Conor, Cian, James and Cian who were invested into 1st Louth Scouts on Saturday 28th January on the Cooley Mountains. The rest of the troop were there to see the ceremony and also to enjoy an overnight stay in the Mullabouy hall. Photos of the night are here. PL's and APL's Traing Weekend Please look here for all info on the weekend. Patrol Hike Two patrols took part in a long hike on Sunday 9th October. Fox patrol started their hike from Ravensdale forest car park and ended up in the Tain adventure Centre in Omeath. Bufallo patrol started at the Ravensdale post Office and ended up in Carlingford. It was a long day with the scouts starting at 9.30am and finishing up at 4.30pm. The weather conditions were very bad with rain and mist making it hard to see. Compass work was essential to keep on track. Check out the photos from the hike here. Annual Camp Everyone arrived home safe and sound from a brilliant Annual Camp in Crawfordsburn. Cox's Camp 1st Louth Scouts held a camp in April in Cox's Land. It was an enjoyable weekend where the scouts learned many new skills. See photos here. Cú Chulainn Camp 2011 The annual Cú Chulainn camp will take place in Larch Hil on the 6th/7th/8th May. Please click here for the Patrol Leaders Pack. Firelighting Hike Scouts were out hiking and firelighting in Ravensdale on Sunday 20th March. It was a day to remember for Leader Aidan as he was shown how to light a fire by Gareth. Photos New Provincial Scout Rep Congratulations to Jason Connor who was unanimously voted into position of one of the 6 Provincial Scout Reps for the North East. Jason will now represent the Province at the National Youth Fora in March with the possibility of becoming a National Scout Rep a real possibility. Annual Camp Annual Camp will take place from 22nd-31st July 2011 in Crawfordsburn, Co. Down. The cost of the camp isn't finalised yet. Scouts wishing to go must pay €50 deposit by 15th March. The theme for the month is pioneering and knots. The programme for this month can be found here. Happy New Year Scouts are back on Tuesday 11th January. Subs for January/February/March are now due. €35 per scout. One Programme Books The Scout Book and the Adventure Skills book are now available. Each scout is recommended to own the Scout book, it costs €15. The Adventure Skills book is €8. Hike There is a hike on 12th December to Slieve Gullion.
