This
years annual camp took place in Wiltz International Campsite, Luxembourg
from 3rd – 13th August.
11 scouts and 56 leaders had a great time staying in a Chalet on the outskirts
of Wiltz town. There was plenty to do with mountains and a river
on our doorstep.
The troop had rented two minibuses from Brussels
proudly named Mavis and Davis.
This made life easy as scouts could be dropped right at the front door or their
activities. It also meant day trips to Walibi theme park and Luxembourg City were done at our own leisure.
Scouts enjoyed making bivys, cooking backwoods, eating Larry
the Lobster, swimming, high ropes course, orienteering, fire hike, charades,
river walks, lighting fires on water, campfires and collecting wood up the
steepest hills in the world. They also got to meet scouts from all around the
world and learn something about their home country and swap kneckers.
The sports league consisted of badminton and ping pong which all the boys
showed their competitive side in.
The high ropes course and kayaking 13km and cycling back were some of the
highlights of a full and fun programme.
Scouts also have the opportunity to tell friends and family that they were in Luxembourg, Belgium,
Germany and even France all in an
11 day camp.
